Press Release
    Dr. Stewart Williams, Founder SPBS

The results are in and we have a new executive, were the words of the Chairman of SPBS.

Annual elections were held in October 2014 to select a new Executive to guide the affairs of the SPBS for the period 2014 - 2016. After another successful year 2013 -2014, under the leadership of President Dr. Mervyn (Pluto) Richardson, the membership elected a new President in the person of Dr. Stewart Williams, Founder of SPBS.

Dr. WIlliams is a 1976 graduate of the Sandy Point High School (now Charles E. Mills Secondary School) and is a Chemist by profession having graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree (Summa Cum Laude) in Chemistry with Physics, from The University of the Virgin Islands and in 1989 with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Physical Chemistry from the University of Washington in Seattle. He presently resides in the Greater Philadelphia area and is an Associate Global R&D Director at a leading Chemical Company. Stewart is married to Mrs. Vernice Williams and is the proud father of three (3) young ladies.

    The Executive is as follows:

    Charles Mills - Chairman

Stewart Williams – Founder & President

William V. Hodge - Vice President

    Collette Joseph - Secretary

    Veronica Assent - Assistant Secretary

    Trevor Duggins - Treasurer

Anthony E. Warner - Assistant Treasurer

Mervyn Richardson - Public Relations Officer.

The new chief executive in his acceptance speech thanked the outgoing executive for having left the group in a better position than when they took over two years ago. He admonished us to begin searching for and recruiting young past students from SPHS/CEMSS as we begin to get our succession plan in place, as he had already led by example by recruiting two (2) new members. He also pledged to take SPBS to new heights with the help of ALL the members. As he closed his acceptance speech, he thanked the Chairman for venturing into uncharted waters in the conducting of the elections as it was the first time we had anonymous online voting and it was a success. He further stated that he knew there were some projects that he needed to complete during his term of office and that by the next meeting, his first full meeting as President, he intends to present his agenda for the next two (2) years.

As the meeting came to a close, the members wished the President and the new executive well and pledged their full support to the cause and programs of SPBS.
