Sandy Point Benevolent Society Announces 14th Annual

Dr. Stewart O. Williams Awards Gala

Bronx, New York – The Sandy Point Benevolent Society (SPBS) proudly announces its 14th Annual Dr. Stewart O. Williams Awards Gala, an elegant evening dedicated to celebrating excellence, honoring community service, and raising funds to support educational scholarships and charitable initiatives.

The Gala will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., at Maestros Catering Hall, 1703 Bronxdale Avenue, Bronx, New York. This year's theme, "Rooted in Service, Grounded in Giving Back," reflects the Society's enduring commitment to recognizing those whose lives exemplify leadership, generosity, and service to others.

The 2026 Gala holds profound significance as it will be the first since the passing of the Society's beloved Founder and President, Dr. Stewart O. Williams. A visionary leader, dedicated physician, educator, and humanitarian, Dr. Williams devoted more than three decades to building the Sandy Point Benevolent Society into one of the premier community organizations serving the people of Sandy Point and the wider Kittitian and Nevisian community. Through his unwavering commitment to education, philanthropy, and community development, he inspired countless individuals to embrace a life of service and giving. While his presence will be deeply missed, his extraordinary legacy will continue to guide the Society for generations to come.

Throughout the evening, the Society will proudly recognize an outstanding group of individuals whose accomplishments and dedication have made a lasting impact on their communities. This year's honorees are Ms. Avril Francis, Ms. Shermin Stevens, Ms. Kylla Herbert, Mrs. Vernice Williams, who will accept recognition in honor of the late Dr. Stewart O. Williams, and Mr. Fitzroy Wilkin.

Special recognition will also be given to three distinguished patrons whose steadfast support has helped strengthen the Society's mission over the years: Mr. Samuel Jones, Ms. Jil Lewis, and Mrs. Cathleen Hodge-Wilkin. Their generosity and commitment have played a vital role in advancing the Society's scholarship and charitable programs.

More than an awards ceremony, the Dr. Stewart O. Williams Awards Gala is a celebration of community, culture, and the enduring spirit of giving back. Guests will enjoy an elegant evening of fine dining, live entertainment, fellowship, and inspiring tributes while celebrating the accomplishments of this year's award recipients.

Proceeds from the Gala will benefit the Dr. Stewart O. Williams Legacy Fund, established to preserve Dr. Williams' vision by supporting educational scholarships, youth development, and the charitable initiatives of the Sandy Point Benevolent Society. The Legacy Fund will ensure that his lifelong commitment to education, leadership, and community empowerment continues to create opportunities for future generations.

    Exciting Annual Grand Raffle

Adding to the excitement of the evening will be the drawing of the Sandy Point Benevolent Society's Annual Grand Raffle, one of the organization's most anticipated fundraising events. Supporters will have the opportunity to win outstanding prizes while helping to strengthen the Society's scholarship and community service programs.

    This year's prizes include:

The Sandy Point Benevolent Society warmly invites members of the public, corporate sponsors, alumni, community organizations, and friends of St. Kitts and Nevis to join this memorable evening of celebration, remembrance, and community spirit.

Together, these efforts help ensure that the Society continues to empower students, assist families, and strengthen communities through meaningful service.

As the Sandy Point Benevolent Society embarks on a new chapter in its history, the 2026 Dr. Stewart O. Williams Awards Gala stands as both a tribute to an extraordinary leader and a reaffirmation of the Society's unwavering commitment to service, education, and giving back.
